The Dhaka University admission test schedule for 1st year undergraduate classes in the 2023–2024 academic year has been fixed. According to the schedule, the Business Studies Faculty Admission Test will be held on February 24, 2024; the Arts and Social Sciences Faculty Admission Test on February 23, 2024; the Science Faculty Admission Test on March 1, 2024; and the Fine Arts Faculty Admission Test (General Knowledge) on March 9, 2024. The admission test for all departments will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The admission test will be held in 8 divisional cities including Dhaka.
The admission test application and fee submission by candidates online will start on December 18, 2023, at 4 p.m. and will continue until midnight on January 5, 2024.

Students of Science, Biology, Pharmacy, Earth and Environmental Sciences and Engineering and Technology Faculty and related institutes can apply.
All the departments/institutes that can be applied for admission under this unit will be detailed in the admission guidelines of the unit given on the website.
Higher Secondary in Science and Agriculture and Alim and IGCSE/O Level and IAL/GCE A Level Examinations in Madrasa Education Board Science Branch of Secondary and Higher Secondary or Equivalent Examination (including 4th subject) with GPA-sum of minimum 8 (Secondary/Equivalent and must have minimum GPA- 3.5 in Higher Secondary/Equivalent Examination separately) can apply for admission.Departments/Subjects included in Faculty of Science, Biology, Pharmacy, Earth & Environmental Sciences and Engineering & Technology and candidates selected for admission to respective institutes on merit basis or conditions for obtaining minimum grade/grade points in higher secondary or equivalent examination in approved subjects related to the subject on the website Details will be mentioned in the given admission-guidelines.
All departments in the Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences and Law and the Department of Geography and Environment in the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences, the Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Biology, Social Welfare in the Institute of Social Welfare and Research, Education in the Institute of Education and Research, (B.Ed Honours), English in the Institute of Modern Languages Honors courses in various foreign languages and health economics at the Institute of Health Economics,Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies subject of Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies.
Humanities students and IGCSE/O Level and IAL/GCE A Level or equivalent examinations with at least 2 subjects in Humanities are eligible to apply.

Students who have passed higher secondary or equivalent examination in Humanities cannot be admitted to the departments of this unit through D-Unit (Transfer Unit).
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary and Madrasa Education Board Humanities Alim Examination in Secondary and Higher Secondary or Equivalent Examination (including 4th subject) have minimum GPA of 7.5 (in Secondary/Equivalent and Higher Secondary/Equivalent Examination separately minimum GPA-3. 0) have they can apply for admission.Minimum grade/grade points obtained in higher secondary or equivalent examination and departmental conditions will be detailed in the admission guidelines provided on the website.
Faculty of Business Studies:
Students who have passed Business Education and IGCSE/O Level and IAL/GCE A Level or equivalent can apply.

Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary, Diploma-in-Commerce and Business Management examination in Business Education stream in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination (including 4th subject) with minimum GPA of 7.5 (minimum GPA in Secondary/Equivalent and Higher Secondary/Equivalent separately) – should have 3.5) they can apply for admission.Candidates coming from Diploma-in-Commerce and Business Management stream at Higher Secondary level must have Accounting subject and minimum B-Grade (Grade-point 3.0) in the subject. Other conditions prescribed by the unit will be detailed in the admission guidelines provided on the website.
Candidates belonging to C-Unit can take admission in the seats of Business Studies faculty only. They will not have any chance of admission in the departments under A, B and D units through the examination of ‘C’ unit. However, the candidates admitted to the departments of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences will have to take the admission test through D-Unit.
Students of Humanities/Science/Business Education/IGCSE/O Level and IAL/GCE A Level or equivalent stream can apply.

Candidates who have passed the Humanities Secondary and Higher Secondary and Madrasa Education Board Alim Examination in Humanities with minimum GPA of 8.0 in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination (including 4th subject) (minimum for Secondary/Equivalent and Higher Secondary/Equivalent examination separately 3.0) can apply for admission.
Candidates from Science, Agriculture, Home Economics and Science branches of Madrasa Education Board with minimum GPA-sum of 8.5 in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination (including 4th subject) (Minimum 3 in Secondary/Equivalent and Higher Secondary/Equivalent examination separately) .5 must have) they can apply for admission.
Candidates from Higher Secondary, Diploma-in-Commerce and Business Management stream in Business Education stream with minimum GPA-sum of 8.0 in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination (including 4th subject) (in Secondary/Equivalent and Higher Secondary/Equivalent examination) separately must have a minimum of 3.5) only they can apply for admission.
Applications below B-grade (grade point 3.0) in any subject in Higher Secondary or equivalent examination will not be accepted. The conditions for obtaining minimum grade/grade points in higher secondary or equivalent examination in the subject in which admission is sought under this unit or the approved subject related to that subject and the departmental conditions will be detailed in the admission guidelines provided on the website.
Faculty of Fine Arts
Applications can be made for admission under this unit in the following categories:
1. Drawing and illustration 2. Graphic design 3. Printmaking 4. Oriental art 5. Pottery 6. Sculpture 7. Crafts and 8. Art history.

Dhaka University Honors 1st Year Admission Notice
General Rules (applicable to all units)
1. For IGCSE/O Level and IAL/GCE A Level Candidates: Candidates who have passed at least 5 subjects in IGCSE/O Level Examination from 2018 to 2021 and — at least 2 subjects in IAL/GCE A Level Examination published in December 2023. can do Their IGCSE/O Level and IAL/GCE A Level must have at least B-grade in 4 subjects and C-grade in 3 subjects respectively out of total 7 subjects.
2. Candidates holding equivalent foreign certificate/diploma may apply subject to the permission of the Head of the Unit concerned. However, they can participate in the admission test only if the equivalence is determined by the concerned faculty. Apart from this all the candidates have to fulfill other conditions prescribed by the concerned unit.
Quota admission
Ward Quota of Teachers/Officers/Employees working in Dhaka University (Boys/Girls/Husband/Wife Only) Tribes/Minorities, Harijan and Dalit Communities, Handicapped (Visual, Speech, Hearing and Physical) and Children of Freedom Fighters/Grandsons/Grandchildren of Freedom Fighters, Sportsmen(Only students who have passed the HSC examination from Bangladesh Sports Institute (BKSP)) Candidates admitted in the quota must collect the prescribed form from the Dean’s office of that unit within 7 (seven) days of the release of the result of the admission test of the concerned unit by showing the admit card of the admission test.
(a) In case of ward quota, along with the certificate of the concerned office head of Dhaka University.
(b) with attested photocopy of certificate of respective Tribe/Minority Head/District Administrator in case of Tribal/Minority Quota.
(c) In case of Harijan and Dalit community quota, with certificate from the head of Harijan and Dalit community organization.
(d) with correctness certificate in respect of disability quota (visual, speech, hearing and physical).
(e) Certificate issued by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs in case of children/grandson/granddaughter of freedom fighters or countersigned by the then Honorable Prime Minister under Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Parliament from 1997 to 2001.
(f) Only students who have passed HSC examination from Bangladesh Sports Education Institution (BKSP) can apply for player quota. In this case, the certificate should be obtained from the Bangladesh Sports Education Institution.
After collecting the prescribed form of the above quota and filling it properly, the certificate/certificate/credential of the person who wants to be admitted in the quota should be submitted to the office of the concerned unit head during the office hours.

Application for admission to any unit can be made from https://admission.eis.du.ac.bd website. The admission application will require details of the student’s higher secondary and secondary education, current address and mobile number, parent’s national identity card number (optional), departmental city center in which the student is interested to appear, quota and a scanned photograph.The admission application fee can be paid immediately online or deposited in the four state-owned banks (Sonali, Janata, Agrani and Rupali) within the stipulated time frame. For equality
For A-level/O-level/equivalent foreign course or open university passed students apply by visiting https://admission.eis.du.ac.bd website under “Equivalence Application” menu. The prescribed fee must be submitted online immediately. Using the “Equivalence ID” obtained after the equivalence, they can apply for the admission test by logging on to the same website as normal students.
