When necessary to preserve orderly market conditions, Bangladesh Bank (BB) engages in USD purchase or sale transactions with dealer banks at the going interbank exchange rates.
When transacting with the government and several international organisations, BB uses the exchange rates shown below for purchases and sales. The buying and selling prices for USD/BDT listed below are Dhaka’s highest and lowest interbank exchange rates. The closing exchange rates in Dhaka and New York serve as the basis for BDT’s cross rates with other foreign currencies.
